Nature is one of the top healing powersets in DC Universe Online — currently an S-tier power that uses poisonous botanical abilities to restrain enemies and powerful Pheromone-boosted heals to keep the group alive. Here’s a guide to a strong Nature healer loadout and how the key abilities work together.
Core healing abilities
- Blossom — your primary heal; restores health to you and the most injured group member, healing extra on allies marked with Pheromones.
- Metabolism — a secondary heal that tops off you and up to three group members.
- Cross Pollination — a pollen wave that heals you and nearby allies over time, growing stronger with each ally it hits.
- Flourish — an instant group heal that also deploys a heal-over-time and spreads/refreshes Pheromones.
- Swarm Shield — your emergency shield to absorb burst damage on the group.
The Pheromones engine
Nature’s strength is the Pheromones mechanic: many heals apply or consume Pheromones for bonus healing. The smart play is to keep Pheromones up on the group (via Flourish / Cross Pollination) so your direct heals (Blossom, Metabolism) land for much more.
A solid healer loadout
A reliable group-content loadout: Blossom, Metabolism, Cross Pollination, Flourish, Swarm Shield, plus a supercharge such as a strong group heal/shield. This gives you spammable single-target healing, a HoT, a shield for emergencies, and the Pheromone upkeep that powers it all.
Hybrid playstyle
Nature rewards a hybrid playstyle — weaving weapon attacks between power casts to manage power/cost while still putting out heals. Manage your power bar, keep Pheromones refreshed, and react to spikes with Swarm Shield.
How to get the most from it
- Keep Pheromones up — it multiplies the rest of your kit.
- Lead with HoTs (Cross Pollination/Flourish), then patch spikes with Blossom/Metabolism.
- Hold Swarm Shield for big incoming burst rather than spamming it.
- Gear for might/power and resto, and adjust your loadout to the content (tougher raids may want more shielding/supercharge).
