The Loot Sweet Spot for Town Hall 11

For most Town Hall 11 accounts in Clash of Clans, the Gold League through Master League range offers the best balance of loot bonus and beatable opponents — Gold League bases tend to be easy targets with strong Gold and Elixir storages, Crystal League adds a better mix for Dark Elixir farming, and Master League pushes the loot bonus higher while opponents are still manageable for a well-built TH11. Pushing into Champion League and above increases the loot bonus further, but base quality and defensive strength scale up just as fast, which usually cancels out the benefit for a dedicated farming account.

Why Loot Bonus Isn’t the Only Variable

Loot bonus in Clash of Clans scales with the percentage of a base you destroy: each percentage point of damage up to 50% counts as 1.6% of the total bonus (so 50% destruction earns 80% of the bonus), each point from 50% to 70% adds 1% more, and 70% or higher destruction earns the full bonus. That means a farming strategy built around consistently hitting 70%+ destruction on easy targets earns more per raid than chasing a higher league with harder, more heavily defended bases you can only partially destroy.

The Deliberate Trophy-Drop Strategy

Many dedicated farmers intentionally drop trophies below their maximum to sit in a league full of “dead” or inactive bases — accounts that haven’t logged in recently and have let their storages fill up uncollected. A base sitting below your account’s peak trophy count in an active-but-not-maxed league often has more loot sitting in storage than an actively defended base at your true skill level, since the owner isn’t spending or protecting it. This is a large part of why the Gold-to-Master range outperforms pushing to Champion or Titan League for pure farming purposes, even though the per-raid loot bonus percentage is technically lower.

Best Farming Army for TH11

Sneaky Goblins are the standard farming army composition at TH11 and above: they target resource buildings directly, turn invisible for a few seconds after deployment so defenses take longer to react, and drain storages efficiently before the base’s defenses can respond in force. A disciplined Sneaky Goblin farming loop in a good loot league can realistically earn roughly 1-3 million Gold and Elixir per hour, though Dark Elixir accumulates far more slowly regardless of league or army composition, since Dark Elixir storages hold much less per base.

Practical Farming Checklist

  • Sit in the Gold-to-Master League range rather than pushing trophies higher if loot, not ranking, is your goal.
  • Prioritize bases with full or near-full storages over bases with strong defenses — scout the storages before committing troops.
  • Aim for 70%+ destruction per raid to capture the full loot bonus rather than stopping at a partial 1-star result.
  • Use Sneaky Goblins as your core farming army at TH11+, and keep a small support composition (a few Wall Breakers or a Giant) to clear a path to the storages.
  • Don’t chase Dark Elixir at the expense of Gold/Elixir efficiency — it accumulates slowly in any league and is better farmed as a secondary target, not the main goal of a raid.
